Spiritual Direction
Initially reserved for clergy and the religious, spiritual direction evolved in the mid-70’s to its present form and has become more available to lay people. It is not counseling or advising. It is no crisis centered. Spiritual Direction is about listening, facilitating, providing a safe, nurturing environment where people of all faiths can explore their spirituality by looking honestly at their relationship with God, as it is lived out in everyday life.
Some people come to spiritual direction simply to give voice to some of their silent wonderings! Spiritual direction provides an ecumenical, non-judgmental place to process God-stuff.
